Christmas Gift Ideas for when your toy box is already overflowing.
It is hard to believe that it is already time to start thinking about the holidays and Christmas gift ideas. We’ve started getting the question of: “What does your daughter want for Christmas?” The real answer is nothing because she doesn’t know was Christmas is yet! But really, there’s not much that she needs. We are also getting ready to move into a smaller living space in the next couple of months, so we don’t want to add more stuff to the list of things to move.
We are changing up our typical Christmas list this year.
Instead of asking for things, we are asking more for experiences. Here are some of the ‘things’ we have on our list for Christmas gift ideas:
- Museum Passes
- Aquarium Passes
- Zoo Passes
- Music Classes
- Swim Classes
- Movie Passes
- Indoor Playspace Membership
These are all things that we can do together and enjoy. All of these would be a real treat to receive too, many of these things can get pricey for a family to do.
But what about something to open?
I know it is nice to give gifts, especially to children that they can open. I like things that will keep the kids busy and really give them something to do.
- Board Games (depending on the child’s age)
- Art Supplies including crayons, paints, paper, and other crafty activities
- Balls or other sport items
Obviously, Christmas gift ideas also really depend on what each child is interested in. My daughter is loving baby dolls, pretend play, and Moana right now. Anything in those categories would be a big hit for her. Last year, we got her a sled as her big present.
I know some families follow the guide of “Something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read”. So that’s another idea if you are looking to minimize the amount of stuff under the Christmas tree.
